Canadian Student Program

Deadline to submit abstracts is now March 5, 2004

The 55th International Astronautical Congress, to be held this year in Vancouver, British Columbia from October 4-8, 2004, will bring together world-class researchers, engineers, and students. Conference presentations will explore the potential of emerging technologies to contribute to solving the mysteries of the universe and to making life on Earth better. Open to students from 19 to 28 years of age, currently enrolled in a BSc., Masters or PhD. program in space studies or related fields, this conference offers students a unique experience to learn and exchange information with their peers and space professionals from across the globe while creating lasting contacts with academic, industry and space agency representatives.

As a sponsor and participant in IAC 2004, the Canadian Space Agency invites Canadian students to develop and submit papers for consideration by an international body of space scientists, engineers and researchers. Canadian Students, whose papers are chosen to be presented at the Vancouver congress, may also qualify to have part of the costs associated with their participation defrayed by the Canadian Space Agency.

Canadian students selected to present their paper at IAC 2004 will be required to develop and deliver a presentation at their university describing their IAC experience and expanding on their enhanced understanding of the Canadian Space Program within 12-months of the congress.
